CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 10 cm square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and<br />rows, try a larger size needles.<br /><br />STITCH EXPLANATION:<br />sk2p Slip 1 as if to knit, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over&mdash;2 sts decreased.<br /><br />PATTERN STITCHES<br />Lace Pattern<br />Row 1 (WS): Purl.<br />Row 2 (RS): K1, *yo, k2, sk2p, k2, yo, k1; rep from * across.<br />Rep Rows 1 and 2 for Lace Pattern.<br />K2, p2 Rib (multiple of 4 sts)<br />Row 1 (RS): *K2, p2; rep from * across.<br />Row 2 (WS): K the knit and p the purl sts.<br />Rep Row 2 for K2, P2 Rib.<br /><br />WRIST WARMER (make 2)<br />Cast on 57 sts. Work in Lace Pattern until piece measures 11.5 cm from beg, end with a RS row.<br />Next (Decrease) Row (WS): P3, (p2tog, p4) 9 times &ndash; 48 sts at end of this row.<br />Work in K2, p2 Rib until piece measures 20.5 cm from beg.
